Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill vacant position tenable at the our Secretariat in Area 3.

Job Title: Assistant Estates Officer

Duty station: Synod Secretariat (Area 3)

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• To survey and measure property for valuation purposes in connection with purchase, sale or lease of the property, rent review, licensing, insurance or compulsory purchase, boundary disputes etc.
• To undertake valuations for acquisitions and disposals, establish fees for new licenses and rents for new leases.
• To ensure that tenants comply with terms of their leases, serving notice of intention to carry out rent reviews, taking appropriate action in respect of tenants vacating premises.
• To be available to answer queries on land ownership and use of land/property.
• To provide property advice to other Synod departments.
• To assist the Estates Officer with the updating of the Asset Management System.
• To conduct negotiations with existing tenants or their agents on disputes arising from leases or on new rents to be assessed under rent review procedures.
• Making sure properties are being used for their intended purpose

To carry out such other duties as requested by the Estates Officer/ Management and when requested, represent the Estates Officer at any meetings or discussions when required.

• Computer skills

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Certificate/Diploma in Land/Estates Management
• Over 2 years’ experience in a similar position
