IM Swedish Development Partner

IM Swedish Development Partner is a Swedish value-based member organization with no party-political or religious affiliation. IM’s vision is a fair and humane world and the mission is to fight and expose poverty and exclusion. IM empowers civil society, catalyzing profound societal change towards equality and democracy as a feminist and anti-racist change agent. IM is looking for two (2) interns to contribute towards realization of societal change for the excluded groups that will ultimately contribute to increased democracy and equality in Malawi.

Communication and Media Intern

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Provide organization-wide e-communications (particularly social media) support
  • Collect photos and/or videos taken from partners in the field or IM organized events and maintain photo files for online use; create edit. and upload photos and videos to social media outlets and share with IM head office for website use.
  • Helping to organize meetings, seminars and events to promote wider cooperation with partners, donors, foundations, the private sector and government partners

Required qualifications and criteria: 

  • Degree in Journalism, or a related communication field preferably with Merit
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated interest in the youth and women.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, HTML, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience managing websites preferred.
