Director of Programs

Last Mile Health

The Role

At Last Mile Health, we work to deploy a health worker for everyone, everywhere. Are you excited about launching a new team to work directly with governments to scale sustainable community health programs to make this goal a reality? If so, you may be the perfect fit for our Director of Programs position in Malawi, our first hire for this entrepreneurial program.

The Director of Programs, Malawi is responsible for guiding Last Mile Health’s (LMH) leadership and engagement alongside the Malawi Ministry of Health (MOH) in the strengthening and scale of Malawi’s National Community Health Strategy. The Director of Programs, Malawi will be a trusted advisor and the principal liaison with MOH officials while providing technical leadership and management to the Malawi Country Program team.

As a leader on a start-up team in a new operating environment for LMH, the Director of Programs will need to both be comfortable with an evolving programmatic approach and play a leading role in shaping that approach in response to emergent learning and insight.

• Manage a team of Program Coordinators and Technical Specialists
• Lead the development and implementation of the Programs Team annual workplan with clear and measurable objectives and priorities, deadlines, and budget requirements
• With support from global technical teams and relevant country program staff, support the recruitment and management of Malawi-based LMH staff
