POST: Headteacher I (Grade TF)

SALARY: Within the Grade TF salary scale Segment

LOCATION : Various Secondary Schools in Malawi

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should be serving Headteacher II (Grade TG) or Head of Department I (Grade TG) with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience at that grade holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any other Bachelor’s Degree with University Certificate of Education (UCE); OR Diploma in Education or any other Diploma with (UCE) obtained from an accredited institution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful candidates will carry out the following duties; –

• Determining school education programs within the limitations set by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology;
• Planning, organizing and directing school activities;
• Coordinating teaching programmes including time tabling;
• Directing and executing administrative activities in the school;
• Establishing and maintaining relationships within the school and other education institutions and stakeholders;
• Maintaining school standards including staff and learners discipline;
• Interpreting and implementing
• Government Policies;
• Liaising and discussing with parents and teachers on progress and problems of individual students;
• Preparing school estimates for the running of the school;
• Supervising teaching and learning;
• Conducting teacher and support staff appraisals;
• Supervising Deputy Headteachers and Heads of Departments; and
• Monitoring and coordinating the implementation of changes of the curriculum.
