Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will be responsible for providing general day-to-day HR support across the SBU as part of the Group HR function in relation to all Human Resources, Employee Benefits, Training and Development, Occupational Health and Safety and other administration for Seed Co Group employees and (as necessary) all in compliance with statutory obligations and best practice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and developing relevant Group Policies and Procedures and providing advice in relation to employee performance, conduct and talent management across the SBU.
  • Providing confidential adhoc advice and assistance to employees.
  • Assisting with preparations for disciplinary and grievance hearings as necessary.
  • Administration, co-ordination and support of Group recruitment.
  • Managing and maintaining contracts, personnel files and other employee information.
  • Developing induction programs for new employees.
  • Coordinating and administering Group training and development programs and liaising with external training bodies as required. This includes providing support in relation to Health and Safety training records for employees.
  • Administration and co-ordination of training programs.
  • Developing and managing Group employee-related programs, such as work experience and internships and succession planning.
  • Providing administrative support as required in conducting engagement surveys, change management and working culture environment.
  • Implement the safety policies, guidelines and procedures as set out by Seed Co.
  • Guide line management in the planning and implementation of Safety, Health and Environmental management systems and ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation and legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strategies to excel in the prevention of accidents and environmental pollution.
  • Organization and maintenance of internal safety, health and environmental communication systems such as the formation of the Safety Committee and the departmental safety, health and environmental discussion groups.

Person Specifications

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Studies or any other relevant Social Science Qualification.
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of employment law and employer best practice.
  • A qualification in Environmental Health Sciences or Occupational Health and Safety.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working in a generalist HR environment.
  • Organized and methodical approach to administration and record keeping.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Clean class 4 driver’s license.
