The U.S. Mission Lilongwe, Malawi is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Assistant. The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Duties

This position is located in the Human Resources Office and supports the work of the Human Resources Specialist. This office is responsible for all aspects of human resources administration for U.S. Locally Employed Staff of the following U.S Agencies; Department of State, Peace Corps, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), MCC, and Department of Defense (DOD) & United States Agency for International Development (USAID) (about 324 employees). Incumbent must be familiar with and strive to meet all Universal Service Standards under their portfolio.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: One and half years of clerical experience. Six months of this experience should be in a Human Resources Office.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have good knowledge of general office operations and procedural requirements pertaining to functions performed in the Human Resources Office such as recruitment and interpretation of local labor laws.

Education Requirements:

Completion of Secondary school required plus Two years Office/Secretarial training required.

LANGUAGE: Level IV English (Fluent) and Level III Chichewa (good working knowledge) is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Level II typing (Minimum of 40 wpm). Must be able to work independently and with little supervision following prescribed guidelines. Must have word processing/personal computer skills.
