Background

CSAT a non-profit evidence based organization registered in Malawi and licensed by NGO Board of Malawi to operate as a Non-Governmental Organization.  We are born as a developmental organization that promotes healthy interaction and constructive engagement between citizens, service providers and policy makers to enhance mutual accountability and transparency in the use of public resources. We focus on issues that worry and concern citizen lives through consultations with various stakeholders, capacity building of communities to hold government accountable, monitor policy priorities and implementation of budgetary processes. We aim to undertake, together with citizens accountability advocate and social audit in local development programs in sectors such economic, social, health, agriculture, infrastructure development, education and natural resources management. We therefore seek to harness information, and citizen participation to strengthen accountability from public officials.

CSAT is implementing Chuma Chathu Budget Literacy project and Mzinda Wathu Citizenry Forum both projects under Chuma Chathu Social Accountability Partnership Program. CSAT therefore invites applications from suitable candidates to fill multiple positions that have arisen in various units as follows:

Internship Opportunities (30)

Location: Multiple locations in all the districts

Reporting to: Program Managers

CSAT is looking for interns for 6 months to work at its head office in Lilongwe and district offices across the country. Successful candidates will be reporting to Program Managers. The internship is aimed at professional development and also increasing employment opportunities to young professionals, graduates and students.  Interested candidates should send a letter of intent to the email address below to be considered for the internship opportunity with attachments of photocopies of degree. Interested candidate should be holders or studying towards completion of degrees in the following fields; Public administration, Economics, Education, Political science, Law, Development studies, Natural Resources Management, Geology, Finance, Accounting, Public Health, M& E, or any governance related field.

Competencies and Personal Attributes

  • Have a verified results-oriented track record that includes experience in financial management.
  • Be a person with excellent interpersonal, team building and leadership skills.
  • Have an in depth knowledge of the issues of governance, social accountability, public finance management, budgetary processes and civic engagement.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Be an effective communicator, flexible and responsive strategic thinker with ability to conceptualize and articulate high level decisions and put them into clear strategic direction.
