REPORTS TO:           MONITORING, EVALUATION, RESEARCH AND LEARNING COORDINATOR    

PSI Malawi seeks a highly qualified candidate for the position of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Officer. He/she will perform the following duties:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate and participate in updating and reinforce consistent use of the standard M&E data collection tools, reporting templates and guidelines.
  • Facilitate training or orientation of all relevant program staff, partners on the standard M&E data collection tools, reporting templates and guidelines.
  • Facilitate and participate in updating and maintaining the DHIS2 electronic data capture systems.
  • Carry out regular verification monitoring and supportive supervision of the ongoing program implementation to measure progress implementation of the projects/programs.
  • Facilitate and identify the challenges or trouble shooting issues that affect successful implementation of the projects/programs.
  • Work with implementing partners to review their progress on monitoring and evaluation and provide technical support to them to implement any required M&E related changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Demography, Health Economics, Public Health or any equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 year of practical working experience in project monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated skills in database management and analysis.
  • Demonstrated quantitative skills including use of statistical packages such as SPSS, EPI-INFO, STATA and Microsoft Excel
  • Skills in analyzing, interpreting and communicating information to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation tools, data collection tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high levels of integrity.
  • Strong organisational skills, versatility, ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) including presentation skills.
  • A good team member with a humble attitude and excellent leadership skills
