PSI/Malawi is seeking for Temporary HTS Provider
REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES:
Purpose of the Job:
The HTS provider will be responsible for delivery of HTS to clients and as per National HTS guidelines
Key Result Areas:
- Excellence in pre and post- test counselling (e.g. Basic HIV information, Psychosocial support)
- Excellence and efficiency in testing e.g. HIVST, index testing and HIV Rapid testing with good skills in finger prick and sample collection as well as correct testing Algorithm
- Linkage to treatment and care e.g. >95% linkage, proper documentation
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
|a) Provision of pre-test and post-test voluntary HIV testing and counselling to clients as per national protocol.b) Conduct HIVST distribution and provide a confirmatory test on site to HIVST positives
c) Conduct HIV rapid testing using the National Algorithm
d) Disclosure counselling for adolescents and adults.
e) Provision of continued psychosocial support when requested by clients.
f) Ensure and monitor appropriate referral of clients to psycho-social support, care and treatment.
g) Ensure quality, authentic and accurate records are maintained and kept in line with data management and client confidentiality policies.
h) Adhere to quality assurance standards and standard operating protocols at all times.
i) Responsible for keeping confidential information of the clients and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
j) Daily updates and Weekly written reporting to the HTS Coordinator as required
k) Promotion/speaking about HTS and GBV services as required
l) Assist with provision of post-test services as required
m) Promote index testing by use of clearly defined policies and models/ strategies
n) Manage Health Centre partner relationships with relevant stakeholders in day to day work flow
o) Provide any other duty as needed to ensure quality provision of HTS/GBV services.
Qualification and Experience:
A Diploma/Certificate in Nursing; Community Development or Public Health or relevant field with at least 1 year experience in a clinical setting plus a certificate of HIV testing and counseling.
- Clear understanding of HTS services
- Ability to work effectively with adolescent populations
- Oral and written communication skills, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Be self-starter, and effective team player
